Frequently Asked Questions
Below are a few of the answers to our most commonly-asked questions and concerns. If you have any questions for us, please email us directly at bruinlife@media.ucla.edu.
I am a graduating senior and missed my appointment time to have my portrait photo taken at Campus PhotoStudio. How can I guarantee my picture in the grad section of the 2010 yearbook?
BruinLife cannot guarantee PhotoStudio's availability to fulfill every shoot. However, you may take your professional photo(s) at another location and submit your name, photo, and major to BruinLife via email at bruinlife@media.ucla.edu. Please note that your photo must match exactly the specifications of that taken at PhotoStudio - background, cap and gown, etc. Please visit the studio in Ackerman Union to ask for details.
Also, the deadline for photo submission is not early February, as is set by Campus PhotoStudio. We are still accepting senior photos for the graduates section, so please clarify when taking your portraits that they will be submitted to BruinLife for in inclusion in the 2010 yearbook.
Can I still pick up my 2009 yearbook if I forgot to last year?
Of course, we still have your yearbook. Please visit the Student Media front desk of Kerckhoff Hall and tell them you would like to pick up your 2009 (or earlier) BruinLife Yearbook. BruinCard is required for identification.
Is every UCLA student guaranteed to be in the yearbook?
In a word, no. The only portraits in BruinLife are of graduating seniors - over 100 pages at that - so if you ARE a senior please remember to take your senior photo at Campus PhotoStudio!
If you are part of a club or organization on campus, talk to your president or supervisor about sending your group information and picture to BruinLife Yearbook. Or if you're really eager to be included individually, send us an email and we may be able to interview you!
How can Greeks or student clubs be featured in the yearbook?
Easy! Just visit this site to send us your information or email us at bruinlife@gmail.com with any questions. Be sure to do so soon, our deadline is before the end of fall quarter!
What is Senior of the Year and how can I apply?
Every year, BruinLife honors a few outstanding seniors who exemplify the ideals of a well-rounded, highly-involved senior who has made a positive contribution to our university. We publish double page spreads of these distinct seniors, complete with articles and photos to commemorate their success. To see a Senior of the Year spread from the 2008 yearbook, please visit "See Sample Pages" above.
Applications for Senior of the Year are being accepted until January 29, 2010, and can be found by clicking "Senior of the Year" above. Completed applications can be turned into the Front Desk of UCLA Student Media at 118 Kerckhoff Hall, before the deadline. If you have any questions please email us - we encourage any and all graduating seniors to apply for this highly-regarded distinction!
